Proper Hitting Mechanics

Proper Hitting Mechanics Includes an Ideal Batting Stance
The technique of hitting is mostly about timing and balance. First, you need to have a relaxed batting stance and have your feet a little wider than shoulder width to improve your hitting mechanics. Second, you have to make sure your feet are even with each other. Third, as the pitcher separates his hands, load your hands with your weight on your back leg. Fourth, take a small stride towards the pitcher and rotate your hips. In doing so, you add more power to your swing and create bat speed. Last, release your hands and swing at the pitch. If you follow these basic steps, you should feel more confident at the plate and increase your batting average.

atec_axis_baseball_pitching_machineOver the years, pitching machines have become an essential piece of equipment for many baseball players all over the country. Pitching machines allow players to get batting practice, while improving their stance and hitting mechanics all at their pace.

The advantage of having a quality pitching machine with a ball feeder is that it delivers with out interruption consistent strikes at pre-determined speeds to the batter  allowing more focus on hitting mechanics.  Also the hitter can easily adjust the speed usually between 50 mph and 80 mph.

The circular wheel pitching machine is a first choice for most baseball coaches because its portable and can be easily transported to the ball field or batting cage. Because the circular wheel pitching machine delivers the ball through spinning wheels it can be adjusted to deliver fly balls for outfield practice or for infielding grounders.

The most important advantage of having a pitching machine is that it is accurate and allows hitters to quickly get as many reps in as needed.  Pitching machines vary in quality and cost between $300 to  over $3000 with automactic ball feeder.

hey good video on basic hitting mechanics. I think for the young players starting to play baseball it is important for them to get the mechanics right first.
